How do I read an eBay scan?
Choose eBay in the Scanner, search by keyword or UPC, and pick the product. eBay has no sales rank, so Plug Seller works from what actually sold.
The panels
| Panel | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Profit Calculator | Enter your Cost Price, Sale Price, New or Used, and Your shipping cost. You get Net Profit, Margin, ROI, Breakeven, the Grade, the Sell-through, Est. sales, Est. days to sell and Months of supply. |
| Sold Prices | The median, average, typical price and range of what it sold for. |
| Price Trend | Prices over the last 7 days, 8 to 30 days, and 31 to 90 days. |
| Fees & Max Cost | eBay's fees, and the most you can pay. |
| Competition | How many sellers there are, the biggest seller, and the top-rated sellers. |
| vs Amazon | The same barcode on Amazon. |
You also get alerts, the live listings and the most recent sales.
Fees and Max Cost
- eBay's final value fee is 13.6% in most categories, plus $0.30 per order under $10, or $0.40 above that.
- Max Cost leaves you a 30% return after the fees and your shipping. It always uses 30%, not the targets in your Seller Settings.
- Plug Seller remembers your shipping cost for your next eBay scan.
The Grade
A sells very fast, B sells well, C is average, D is slow, and F is weak, usually with too much competition.
When there are no sold listings to read, the figures are marked Provisional, because they come from asking prices rather than sales.
