How do I record a purchase?

Updated Sep 26, 20261 min read

My Business works out your profit from what you paid, so it needs your costs. Recording a purchase saves them with the product.

From a scan

  1. Scan the product and press List product on its product card.
  2. Plug Seller asks whether you've already bought it. Press Record purchase.
  3. Fill in the Record a purchase window. The cost, sale price and fulfillment come from the scan, so check them.
    • Cost per unit is required.
    • Quantity, Sale price and Fulfillment (FBA or FBM).
    • Supplier, picked from your list. Press + New to add one (your suppliers).
    • Source URL, if you want to keep the link to where you bought it.
  4. Press Record purchase.

You'll see Purchase recorded. Press List on Amazon (or List on Walmart) to go on to the listing form, or Done to stop there.

Other ways to record one

See your purchases

Go to Business > Purchases. The top of the page shows your Total spend, Projected profit, Realized profit and Sell-through. You can search by supplier, store or product, and filter by period.

Click a purchase to see its items. From there you can:

  • change a quantity, a cost or a sale price by clicking on it
  • press Edit to set the supplier, the date, where you bought it, an order or receipt number, the store location and notes
  • press Delete, which also removes its items from your inventory and ends their live listings. It can't be undone.
